Course description
The course presents the opportunity to take part in baking activities and regularly sell your culinary delights in the coffee bar to other learners and staff.
It will cover:
- Using a wider range of tools and equipment.
- Calculating costs of baked goods.
- Recognising and prepare a wider range of food items.
- Explain reasons for hygiene and safety in the kitchen and the workplace.
- Explain or identify how to deal with customer complaints.

Who is this course for?
Residents of Calderdale aged 19+ with learning disabilities who want to develop cooking and baking techniques while expanding on their enterprise skills to potentially lead onto employment or volunteering. Learners must have basic cooking and communication skills, and want to improve confidence, customer service skills, and build an enterprising mindset.
What do I need to bring?
You must be able to access the web-based learning platform Google Classroom during the course. To do this you will need access to IT equipment such as a smartphone, laptop, PC or tablet, and a stable internet connection.
