This course is to support health and social well-being through learning a language.
What you will learn to do:
- Introduce yourself and ask other people basic questions about themselves.
- Order food and drink in a variety of food outlets.
- Ask for the price of items up to 100 Euros and understand the response.
- Ask for and give basic directions.
- Make basic enquiries about hotel accommodation and book a room.
- Make enquiries about public transport and book train tickets.
Course level
First Step - These courses are for complete beginners. You do not need to have studied the subject before or have any previous knowledge.
Who this course is for
Residents of Calderdale aged 19+ who have no prior knowledge of Spanish or only know a few words. Develop social skills and confidence when interacting with Spanish speakers.
Learners will improve their health and wellbeing, keep their minds active, improve memory and the ability to focus on tasks by studying Spanish.
What you need to bring
- The textbook, pen and paper. The textbook will be discussed at the first class.
- You must be able to access the web-based learning platform Google Classroom during the course. To do this you will need access to IT equipment such as a smartphone, laptop, PC or tablet and a Internet connection. You will also need to install the Google Chrome Browser if you do not have this already. It is free to download and use, please visit: Google Chrome.
