Engage courses

These short courses will give you the skills and confidence to get back to work or return to learning.

Engage courses are for anyone over 19 years who is out of work or in casual work and claims benefits.

You can access the courses for free if you receive any of the below benefits:

  • JSA/ESA.
  • Universal Credit.
  • Income Support.
  • Housing Benefit.
  • Working Tax Credit.
  • Council Tax Benefit.
  • Pension Credit Guarantee.

You are also eligible if:

  • You receive low wage (annual salary less than £25,000).
  • You are an asylum seeker.
  • You are a disadvantaged/vulnerable adult.

Courses are a first step to learning. So do not worry if you have not been in education, employment or training for a number of years. Perhaps you have been busy with home life. We understand how daunting returning to this environment can be. Our tutors are welcoming and friendly and you will get individual advice and support every step of the way.

You will also get advice about the next steps you would like to take. This could be seeking work, being a volunteer or further learning and other well-being opportunities.

As the weeks progress, you will feel more positive and more confident. You will be ready to unlock your potential to move forward in life.
